Bespoke Gifting Company

FAQ

Questions and answers

About personalised gifts in general, and about how this site works.

Do you sell these gifts?

No. We don’t make, sell or deliver anything. Each idea links to searches on Amazon.co.uk and Etsy, where independent sellers make personalised versions. You order from the seller you choose, and they handle the personalisation, delivery and any problems.

How does the site make money?

Through affiliate links. If you buy on Amazon.co.uk after following one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Etsy links are plain links unless our Etsy affiliate tracking is switched on — the affiliate disclosure always shows which.

Why don’t you show prices or reviews?

Prices, delivery times and reviews belong to each seller and change all the time. Showing them here would quickly go out of date, so please check them on the listing.

Can I return a personalised gift?

Usually not just because you’ve changed your mind. Under UK rules, the 14-day cancellation right for online purchases doesn’t cover goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. But personalised goods must still be of satisfactory quality and as described, so if something arrives faulty or not as ordered, contact the seller. See regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. General information, not legal advice.

How long do personalised gifts take?

It depends entirely on the seller and the item. Personalised gifts are usually made after you order, so allow for making time, a proof if there is one, and delivery. Every listing shows its own dispatch time, and many sellers publish last order dates for Christmas and other occasions. Our gifting calendar shows how long you have until the next big dates.

What’s the best way to avoid spelling mistakes?

Write the wording out first, check every name and date against something written down, ask someone else to read it, then copy and paste it into the seller’s personalisation box. Always read the proof slowly. Our proof checklist goes through it step by step.

What is the “Try a name” preview?

A simple drawing on each idea page that shows how your wording might look. It’s an illustration, not a seller’s product, font or layout — it’s there to help you judge whether a name or message is too long. What you type stays in your browser and isn’t stored.

What’s Amazon Handmade?

A section of Amazon for artisans selling hand-made goods, many of them personalised. Where an idea suits it, the idea page has a “Search Amazon Handmade” link alongside the main Amazon.co.uk search.

Are Etsy sellers in the UK?

Many are, but Etsy is international. Each listing shows where the item ships from. Items from abroad can take longer and may have extra charges, so check before ordering for a deadline.

Which wedding anniversary is which material?

Lists vary between sources. We show two British lists side by side — Debrett’s and the 1978–79 Pears Cyclopaedia list — on the anniversary materials page, with ideas for each year.

Can you recommend a particular seller?

We don’t rank or review sellers. We suggest what to look for — clear photos of real finished items, a proof, honest dispatch times and good communication — so you can choose for yourself.

I’m a maker. Can I be listed?

We don’t take payment for listings. If you make a personalised gift we haven’t covered, you’re welcome to get in touch with the idea.
