About this idea
A good ID tag is useful as well as personal. Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, a dog on a road or in a public place must generally wear a collar with the owner’s name and address on it or on an attached tag (there are some exemptions), so think about what you include.
Tags come in brass, stainless steel and enamel, in bones, discs and hearts.
Who it suits
Dog and cat owners, new puppy or kitten households.
Ordering in time
Tags are usually engraved quickly, but double-check the details before you order.
Before you order
- Include the owner’s name and address (many people add a phone number too); you don’t have to put the pet’s name on it.
- Deep engraving lasts longer than printed tags.
- Silencers stop tags clinking.
