Names, photos, maps and designs printed onto paper, fabric, mugs, puzzles and more — the most flexible kind of personalisation.
How printed gifts are made
- Art prints (star maps, map prints, family trees, name prints) are usually printed digitally on paper or card, sometimes framed by the seller.
- Photo gifts (blankets, cushions, mugs, puzzles) are often made by dye-sublimation, where heat transfers the dye into a specially coated surface, or by direct-to-garment and UV printing.
- Books (personalised storybooks, newspaper books) are printed to order with the details you enter.
What to check
- Your photos. Print shows up blur and noise. See our guide to photo quality for photo gifts.
- Size and paper. “A4”, “A3” or “50 × 70 cm” make a big difference on the wall — and frames may or may not be included.
- Colours. Screens and printers differ, so colours can look slightly different in print.
- Wording. Long dedications may be set in smaller type to fit.
